Jay - Vocals, Lead & Rhythm Guitar

Born on September 17th, 1958, Jay started playing the guitar at the age of 6, and writing songs at the age of 13. He began playing professionally at the age of 16 in local rock bands, acoustic solo acts, and country bands. His songwriting skills have achieved awards and high esteem from numerous radio stations, national publishers, and talent contests.

Jay and Bobby Lee Curtis formed The Curtis Brothers in 1991, and with only a few personnel changes, the band remains one of the most popular, respected, and professional groups in the Northeast Ohio area. 

Jay enjoys spending time with his family and friends, cooking, writing and recording songs, watching the Cleveland sports teams, and ridiculously stupid shows on TV.

His musical influences include are country, rock, blues, R& B, as well as being inspired by countless other songwriters from the 40's to present day. 

Favorite Bands / Performers : The Beatles, Brad Paisley, Steely Dan, Genesis, Van Morrison, Merle Haggard, George Straight.

Favorite Foods : Pasta, Steak, Reese's Cups, Apple Pie, Italian Olives, anything - except beets.

Married to Janice on October 8th,2004.

Children & Step-Children: Jennifer, Amanda, Samantha / Kara & Katie

Grandchildren : Austin,Nadia, & Kimberlie

Favorite Books : On The Road - Jack Kerouac, My Father's Dream - Barack Obama, Walk in Dry Places - (Hazelden) and 24 Hours a Day (daily reader).
